The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has released the 2025 Draft List of Critical Minerals, opening a 30-day public comment period under the Energy Act of 2020. The draft identifies 54 mineral commodities deemed vital to U.S. economic and national security, including aluminum, lithium, cobalt, rare earth elements, gallium, germanium, and graphite.
