Administration Postpones Deadline for Encryption Decontrol

After three months of promising to meet its Dec. 15 deadline to implement a new decontrol of encryption technology, the Clinton administration put off the project for one month. Fortunately for exporters, however, the extension enabled regulatory gurus to stick industry-friendly adjustments into the draft regulation.
