BIS SEEKING SPECIAL LICENSING RULES FOR NIGHT VISION EXPORTS TO NATO-PLUS ALLIES

BIS is considering new rules that would ease export licensing requirements for night vision and thermal imaging products going to government and military end-users in NATO countries and other close allies. Proposal, which has been circulated for interagency review comes as license applications for this equipment nearly doubled in 2003 and is expected to nearly double again in 2004.
