California Company, Principals Indicted for Deemed Export Violations

Exporters have been laboring for years under the onerous "deemed" export prohibitions in the Export Administration Regulations, which bar companies from transferring controlled technology to foreign nationals. No one, however, believed that the government's enforcement wing would ever catch a company breaching the prohibition. An indictment handed down by a federal prosecutor may change all that.
