Clinton Administration Updates Computer Controls

On July 1, the Clinton administration answered the spring lobbying cry of the high-tech industry by boosting computer licensing levels enough to de-regulate most machines that will hit the consumer market over the next year. Acknowledging the bureaucracy's inability to keep up with technological progress, the administration vowed to revisit the levels in six months.
