The White House has issued its annual Presidential Determination on Major Drug Transit or Major Illicit Drug Producing Countries for Fiscal Year 2026, naming 22 countries, including Colombia, under section 706 of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act (FRAA). Five countries—Afghanistan, Bolivia, Burma, Colombia, and Venezuela—were designated as having “failed demonstrably” to meet international counternarcotics obligations.
