U.S. shipping companies, ports, land, air, and sea carriers are still feeling the sting of the 9-11 attacks. Beyond delays and new security compliance costs, companies need to obtain insurance coverage. Although a new federal law requires insurers to offer terrorism coverage, steep prices are forcing most businesses to forgo essential 21st century insurance.
