EU Flirts with Encryption Decontrol

We all knew that industry wants all export documentation requirements removed from encryption items, and that Congress is on record as favoring the same thing. Yet, as is turns out, the force that may well force the Clinton administration to further decontrol encryption products may come from across the Atlantic, where the European Union is pushing the envelope on export controls.
