Export Enforcement and the Post Shipment Verification

For years, lawmakers on Capitol Hill nagged representatives of the Commerce Department's Bureau of Export Administration (BXA) about verifying end uses for exports of sensitive technology from the U.S. Do more post-shipment checks, they urged. The traditional BXA reply was that such checks are expensive and time-consuming--they were doing as many as possible.
