FinCEN Targets Canadian Broker-Dealer With Record $80M BSA Penalty

The Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has assessed an $80 million civil penalty against Canadian broker-dealer Canaccord Genuity LLC for willful violations of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) tied to failures in its anti-money-laundering (AML) compliance program, the agency announced March 6.
