Senate Committee Approves EAA Legislation

On March 22, the Senate Banking Committee approved legislation - S. 149, or the Export Administration Act of 2001--that would reform the U.S. export control system. The committee acted with the full support of the Bush administration, which offered a series of friendly amendments to the bill, foreshadowing the White House's policy on export restrictions.
