U.N. SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION 1540 CALLS ON MEMBERS TO CONTROL WMDS

The U.N. Security Council's adoption of Resolution 1540 imposes new obligations on all member states to adopt export control laws and regulations to prevent proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and created committee to monitor international compliance with its provisions.
