U.S. Rushes Gulf Arms Cases Under Emergency Authority, Drawing New Congressional Fire

The Trump administration moved Thursday to fast-track more than $16.5 billion in proposed arms sales to Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, invoking emergency authority to waive normal congressional review as U.S. partners in the Gulf confront Iranian missile and drone attacks.
