United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai announced the initiation of an investigation regarding Nicaragua’s acts, policies, and practices related to labor rights, human rights, and the rule of law. The investigation will be conducted under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, as amended.
The December 10 announcment reflects concern "that Nicaragua is engaging in repressive and persistent attacks on labor rights, human rights, and the rule of law."
